Saturday morning 7.30am I felt like a real street urchin spraying the door black- this was to be the base for the next days art work.
Sunday 10am O,D L & A along with their families and friends came to do the door. Mark had prepared the letter stencils which were stuck to the newly blackened door. The spray paints came out and we went for it in a haze of purple and pink florescent spray.
The letters were finally peeled off to reveal a rainbow of ability!
Group photos followed, Mick the official photographer will be over in the next couple of days to do his bit for twelvedoors.com

The biggest challenge of twelvedoors.com lies ahead. up to now my biggest concerns have been convincing my partners in work that this was a good idea and lining up street artists to give the door a good seeing to.
This weekend we have 5 children under the age of 12, all with Down Syndrome, painting the door! The children can't wait to be let loose with paint in spray cans in the centre of Dublin; the parents ie me and my buddies are a little dubious.
We have decided to paint a base coat of black/navy early on Saturday morning to cover over the existing work. We will reconvene at the door at 10am on Sunday. Mark is creating a stencil with the letters A,B,L & E in a large chunky font. The children will paint the stencil space with all the colours we can muster.The door is 6 foot 6 inches by 3 ft (irish doors are not metric!) so we will have some room to play with.
KK will film the work and take photos and we will have the official photo early next week
I am not sure how the play on disABLEed will work but we will give it a go!
Hopefully we can fit in the letters on a grid basis rather than vertically. Any thoughts or suggestions will be welcome!

Many moons ago I said I would and now finally I have got www.twelvedoors.com up and out.
I ran the idea by Will St Ledger and some of the street artists in Dublin and got a great response.
We initially did a holding door by Konk  to get us going.
John Bowes cames on board for April with his Marilyn Monroe.
Each month we will have a new artist and a new door until we complete our 12 month cycle.
 

My office is in Temple Bar  in Dublin City Centre where our inspirational icon of Elvis (another cheese burger, bartender) gazes down on the masses below.

Along with the sometimes dubious pleasure of being in the heart of Dublins

We have now however got totally browned off with the constant defacing and grafitti on our entrance door. We have previously painted the door with non graffiti paint; we have painted the door a garish lilac but to no avail. The Graffiti is not art but scribbles in indelible marker.

So now we are looking to address the issue. We are seeking graffiti artists in Dublin on the basis that for the next 12 months we will have the door painted once a month with whatever the Mr Graffiti desires. The door will be our street art. 12 Doors will be the project.

Make art! 

Breaking News.....Rogues Gallery live in Dublin July 18th in Grand Canal Square (down by the Docks) as part of the Analog Festival. Caroline - any idea of attendees?

Also the highly educated High Llamas on Saturday 20th as part of same fest!
